POSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for maintaining the UH Charge Description Master under the general direction of the Charge Master Manager. Must be able to coordinate with clinical and financial departments to implement appropriate charges for services rendered, and be able to resolve charge and coding related issues across all UH departments. Responsible for the design, administration, security and maintenance of various databases, spreadsheets and dash board reports. Also establishes cash-pay prices for patients having surgical procedures at UH. Requires an extensive knowledge of billing, coding, and financial operations.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Completion of two years college coursework, preferably towards business/accounting degree; or five years equivalent experience preferred. Familiarity with computer programs (Word, Excel) required. Must be familiar with coding and billing systems used in health care. Must have a working knowledge of medical terminology.
