What are the responsibilities and job description for the Materials and Inventory Manager position at University Health System- San Antonio?
POSITION SUMMARY / RESPONSIBILITIES
Manages, supervises and coordinates all inventory distribution activities required for the timely replenishment of products and identifies medical equipment throughout the Health System facilities. To meet patient care requirements, it provides skilled and efficient support to the Director of Inventory Management by assuring that inventory management and control strategies are executed to optimize defined inventory stock levels of products and equipment. The continuing challenge of this position is the supervision of all Health System inventory control staff; administration of all par locations and levels; creation and implementation of opportunities for efficiency and effectiveness of the inventory management and control process, and monitoring trends to assure that the right item is available in the right number at the right time.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
A Bachelor’s Degree is required. A Master’s Degree is preferred. Five years of supervisory experience in the materials management field is required. Six or more years of supervisory experience in the materials management field is preferred. Extensive and successful materials' management / supply chain leadership experience within a complex healthcare organization, healthcare GPO experience, or CMRP certification is a plus.
