POSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES
The 3D Imaging Technologist manipulates digital CT and MRI medical images on highly sophisticated 3D workstations in multiple planes and dimensions for clinical visualization and quantitative analysis of diagnostic and interventional studies. Technologists manages the transfers of all image data to and from the 3D workstations in an accurate and timely manner, and uses the available radiology information systems to acquire relevant patient history and update examination status. The 3D technologist must be well versed in CT and MRI imaging scanning technology, cross-sectional anatomy, and gross pathology. These skills and knowledge are essential to be able to identify artifacts in the images, and to be able to respond to clinicians’ detailed requests for views depicting certain anatomy and/or pathology. Keeps abreast of new technical concepts and disseminates to the imaging technologists. Supports the Health System’s policies, values and guest relations.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Registry by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and Licensed by the Texas Department of Health (MRT), and Advanced certification in CT and/or MRI is required. BSRT or similar Bachelor’s degree and three years CT and/or MRI experience is preferred.
