POSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the direct supervision of the Sr. Manager Clinical Quality Improvement, the HEDIS Abstractor is responsible for collecting, reviewing, and abstracting data related to healthcare quality metrics for the purpose of improving patient outcomes and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. This role involves analyzing medical records, entering data accurately into databases, and collaborating with healthcare providers to ensure the integrity and completeness of data. necessary to organize, maintain and use the electronic health record consistent with the health record policies and standards. Performs assigned duties at an advance level. Follows strict confidential guidelines. Complies with all Federal and State regulations, bylaws, and accrediting bodies including but not limited to HIPAA and Joint Commission. Contributes to the overall success of the Health Information Management team.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Associate degree is preferred. Two or more years of HEDIS Medical Record Abstractor experience can be considered in lieu of degree. One year of strong customer service experience required. Experience in a large health care facility is preferred.
