What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pharmacy Tech position at University Health?
POSITION SUMMARY / RESPONSIBILITIES
The Pharmacy Technician will collaborate with Pharmacy staff and other healthcare providers to promote University Health's pharmacy and health system programs and services to provide an optimal patient experience. Performs a variety of duties required in pharmacy operations and assists the pharmacists in the accomplishment of their duties. Under the supervision of the professional staff, accomplishes competent, efficient and timely performance of assignments within the structure of the Pharmacy Department.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
Graduation from high school or equivalent experience is required. Current pharmacy technician licensure from the Texas State Board of Pharmacy is required. College or commercial school courses in marketing, sales, business or other related areas is preferred. Two or more years inside or outside sales experience preferred. Exhibit professionalism to work in a confidential medical environment. Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred. Ability to work in a team atmosphere as well as work independently.
