POSITION SUMMARY / RESPONSIBILITIES
Operates Ultrasound equipment in the ultrasound department to produce high quality, diagnostic images and guided diagnostic and therapeutic invasive procedures to aid in patient diagnosis. Assumes responsibilities for the operation of the department in the absence of senior personnel. Supports and maintains the University Health System’s protocols, values, and mission, to include excellent customer service initiatives
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
Satisfactory graduation from a two year ultrasound program, or completion of an Associates Degree with additional in-services / training in advanced Doppler ultra-sonography procedures or graduation from a two year Ultrasound program or equivalent is preferred. Must be registered in at least two of the following categories : Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) in abdomen, obstetrics, ARRT, or another modality (RT, CT, MRI, Mammography, or other) or have one registry and two letters of recommendation from a staff Radiologist (abdomen section). Bachelor’s degree only requires one registry. Must have at least three (3) years of experience as an Ultrasound Technologist I. Must meet all other Ultrasound Technologist II clinical ladder criteria
