Overview
The primary purpose of the Assistant Nurse Manager position is to perform charge responsibilities in the Radiology Department, Pain Management & Critical Care Transport in a consistent manner; is accountable on a 24-hour basis for nursing care in the department. Specifically, is responsible for the management of the area including assessing, planning, directing and accordance with the established guidelines of the institution and regulatory agencies.
Responsibilities
- Organizes and monitors operations to accommodate and respond to patient needs, concerns, and complaints within 24-48 hours of complaint.
- Optimizes staffing efficiency and effectiveness so as to avoid unnecessary overtime on a daily basis, as evidenced by overtime records.
- Provides staff with ongoing information and guidance to ensure compliance and consistency in documentation, as evidenced by unit reports submitted monthly to the Executive Director and documented in staff meeting minutes.
- Delegates appropriate responsibilities to qualified staff members on a daily basis, as documented in monthly reports and daily assignments.
- Evaluates employee performance on a timely and continuing basis, and counsels staff members on how to improve performance and effectiveness, as evidenced by annual performance appraisals and detailed staff goals and objectives updated annually.
- Demonstrates willingness to participate in continuous quality improvement efforts in hospital and department as evidenced by personal job performance and the provision of input into special projects.
Qualifications
Graduate of NLN-approved RN education program.
Current licensure as a Registered Nurse from the NJ State Board of Nursing.
Two(2) years of progressively more responsible nursing experience required.
One(1) year Radiology and/or Pain Management nursing experience preferred.
Management experience preferred.
CCRN preferred.
ACLS/PALS certification preferred.
BSN required.
