Responsibilities
The primary purpose of the Director of Radiology position is to be responsible for the overall operations of the Radiology Department, including planning, developing, implementing, coordinating, and evaluating the radiology programs and sections. Responsible for gathering support for the initiatives of these services through relationships with other departments within the hospital and medical school and with the medical staff. The Executive Director is accountable for the coordination of quality and performance improvement initiatives leading to better patient outcomes and satisfaction.
Qualifications
Master’s Degree in Public Administration, Business Administration or a related field is required. Currently licensed to practice as a Radiologic Technologist (RT) in the State of New Jersey. Five (5) or more years of progressively more responsible clinical experiencerequired. At least three (3) years of managerial experience in Radiology, preferably in a teaching hospital, managing Clinical Imaging or Radiology Informatics. Previous management experience in a collective bargaining unit environment is required. IncidentCommand System (ICS) Level 400 required. Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist is preferred. Equivalent experience, education and/or training may be substituted for the degree requirements.
