Responsibilities
The primary purpose of the Radiological Technician I position is to provide x-ray services for inpatients and outpatients of University Hospital. Performs radiographic procedures and other functions related to the production of x-rays of accurate and diagnostic radiographs for interpretation by a licensed practitioner. Exercises professional judgment throughout the performance of his/her duties and maintains a demeanor that supports the values and mission of University Hospital. Contributes and functions as a cohesive member of the department, ensuring that all interaction with patients, physicians, nurses, administrators and other members of the hospital staff are professional and in accordance with the established guidelines of the institution. Performs procedures in compliance with NJ Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) standards and the principals of As Low As Reasonably Achievable (ALARA).
Qualifications
Must possess a current NJ Department of Environmental Protection Diagnostic Radiography license and current ARRT certification. Current certification by the American Heart Association in Basic Life Support (BLS)/CPR required. Must maintain valid certification by the American Heart Association in Basic Life Support (BLS)/CPR. One (1) year of experience in Diagnostic Radiology preferred. Computer literacy required. The successful candidate may be trained to become proficient in Bone Density scans. The individual must be able to pass a medical evaluation and a respirator fit test and wear an N95 particulate filter respirator mask in accordance with PEOSHA standards as a condition of employment. Annual Respirator Fit Testing required.
