Responsibilities
The primary purpose of the Chief Neurophysiology Technologist position is to supervise all laboratory personnel. This includes supervising technical activities of the laboratory, directing related clerical activities, assisting in training activities, evaluating requests for Neurophysiology tests (EEG, Video EEG Monitoring, TCD, EP, NCS / EMG), and advising the physician regarding the procedures and test designs necessary to complete them. The role also involves determining and programming the tests and equipment necessary to complete the diagnostic studies, evaluating the test results to ensure adequacy for interpretation, and being prepared to perform or assist in the performance of all procedures. The candidate must possess the ability, education, training, and / or expertise required of a Senior Level Neurophysiology Technologist to meet the needs of patients of all ages (newborn to maturity).
Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent GED certification is required. A minimum of five (5) years of experience in EEG and Video EEG Monitoring testing is required. Completion of a Neurodiagnostic Credentialing and Accreditation Program accredited by The American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic and Evoked Potential Technologist, INC. (ABRET) is required. Successful completion of a national registry exam (ABRET) is also required. Annual Respirator Fit Testing is required. Credential preferred : An Associate’s Degree or higher in a related field. Prior supervisory experience is preferred. Credential required : High School Diploma / GED, ABRET, Current American Heart Association CPR certification, and BLS certification.
