What are the responsibilities and job description for the Anesthesia Technician B PD position at University Hospital?
The primary purpose of the Anesthesia Technician B position is to support the anesthesia team by assisting the Anesthesiologists and Nurse Anesthetists who are performing anesthetic procedures for patients. Responsible for cleaning, decontamination, and sterilization of anesthesia supplies and equipment; understands and utilizes sterile technique and universal precautions. Performs and documents equipment maintenance, orders and maintains par levels of anesthesia equipment and intravenous solutions. Under supervision, handles pharmaceuticals related to the administration of anesthesia, including but not limited to, rotating supplies, requisitioning supplies to maintain par levels, removing expired medications, stocking carts, etc. Assists members of the anesthesia team as directed, by safely and appropriately distributing anesthesia equipment and supplies.
Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent required. One (1) year of experience working in a healthcare environment required. Familiarity with anesthesia equipment care and/or sterilization technique preferred. ASATT certification for Anesthesia Technician or related work experience preferred. Must possess the ability to work as part of a team and independently. Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English to perform the duties of the position.
