What are the responsibilities and job description for the Program Support Specialist position at University Hospital?
The primary purpose of the Program Support Specialist (Data Collection) position is to assist in the compilation and aggregation of data from audits associated with Quality Improvement teams, Regulatory and The Joint Commission. Supports the Quality Improvement Specialists and their associated Performance Improvement and multidisciplinary teams, and hospital by maintaining schedules, team notification, and taking, transcribing, and maintaining minutes.
Responsibilities
Supports Quality Improvement Specialists as facilitator of Performance Improvement Team and hospital committee meetings by scheduling, taking minutes, creating agenda’s, assembling reports and communication.
Prepares spreadsheets and reports as required by Quality Improvement Specialists for team or committee meetings.
Collects and prepares data for submission to benchmarking studies as part of Advanced Disease Certification programs (Advanced Heart Failure and Comprehensive Stroke.
Position requires standing 1/4of the time, walking 1/4 of the time, requires sitting 1/2 of the time, talk or hear over 2/3 of the time.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in healthcare, business, communications, or a related field required.
Three (3) years’ experience working in a healthcare setting, preferably acute care, required.
Good computer skills and experience collecting and organizing data required.
Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams. Equivalent experience, and training may be substituted for the degree requirements on a year for year basis.
