What are the responsibilities and job description for the Special Procedures Technologist (Mammography), Per Diem position at University Hospital?
The primary purpose of the Special Procedures Technologist (Mammography) is to provide healthcare services to patients requiring mammography imaging. Performs appropriate procedure and related techniques on patients, producing images for the interpretation by, or at the request of a licensed practitioner. Provides appropriate patient care and recognizes patient conditions essential for successful completion of the procedures. Responsible for carrying out quality control tests to comply with state and federal requirements. Must be able to perform duties in UH as well as on the Mobile Mammography Van. Exercises professional judgment in the performance of services and maintains a demeanor complementary to medical ethics.
Qualifications
Must be a graduate of an approved Radiology Technology Program. NJ State license and ARRT certification and current active registration. One (1) year of experience as a Mammography Technologist. It is highly preferred to be familiar with the Brevera stereotactic biopsy unit and Mammotome biopsy systems. Must be thoroughly versed, experienced and competent in all aspects of mammography related procedures and MQSA requirements. Annual fit testing is required. Must maintain valid certification by the American Heart Association in Basic Life Support (BLS)/CPR.
