Under direct supervision of the Dahms Clinical Research Unit Research Nutritionist Manager, the Nutrition Research Assistant II (NRA II) is responsible for supporting bionutrition clinical research patient activities
What You Will Do- Maintains DCRU metabolic kitchen and food service-related operational activities
- Facilitates research meal procurement, preparation and delivery
- Delivers patient’s food with accuracy and courtesy.
- Must be able to follow standard operating procedures.
- Exhibits competency in working with diverse patient populations
- Licensed to perform all DXA related imaging, able to operate DXA equipment, accurately obtains DXA scans, correctly analyzes all scan types, follows all manufacturer suggested and institutional quality checks
- Accurately obtains anthropometric measurements on all research populations using skinfold calipers, tape measures
- Oversees the training and supervises student learning on all tools used in bionutrition research including NDSR, metabolic kitchen body composition, and DXA (theory and analysis)
- Educates research patients by providing appropriate protocol-specific education to research participants. Develops protocol specific education materials for patient use.
- Completes all components of patient scheduling for research bionutrition visits including using CAMP (scheduling tool and core services report), Google Calendar, and REDCap. Able to schedule, reschedule, cancel patient visits in accordance with standard procedures.
- Collects dietary recall data from research patients, enters data into NDSR software, conducts routine QA on NDSR data per standard procedures, and exports reports in a timely manner to meet monthly deadlines
- Accurately collects and documents nutrition research data according to protocol needs, and performs necessary data entry and cleaning.
- Follows all quality assurance measures for bionutrition equipment, software, and methodologies performed by bio nutrition
- Performs other duties as assigned.
