Job Summary
We are seeking an Advanced Practice Provider to join our team in the Pain Management and Wound Clinics at University Hospitals. The ideal candidate will possess excellent clinical skills, strong communication abilities, and a passion for providing high-quality patient care.
About the Role
- This is an 8-hour day shift position, Monday through Friday, with no weekends or holidays.
- The successful candidate will have experience as an APP, preferably in pain management or wound care, or be willing to learn and grow in this field.
Key Responsibilities
- Patient Assessment: Conduct thorough assessments of patients to assign accurate diagnoses based on recorded data and current research.
- Plan of Care: Establish and implement plans of care, adhering to established protocols, standards of care, and current research.
- Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Work effectively with healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive care to patients and their families.
- Routine Diagnostic Procedures: Order and perform diagnostic tests as needed.
- Treatment Plans: Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
- Clinical Effectiveness: Continuously evaluate and improve therapeutic interventions.
- Professional Development: Contribute to staff education, promote professionalism, and advance personal development through continuing education and peer review.
- Patient Relations: Build positive relationships with patients and colleagues.
Requirements
- Demonstrated competence as a practitioner.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Familiarity with technical patient care devices specific to the clinical area.
- Proficiency with computers and office equipment.
Educational Requirements
Nurse Practitioner: Doctorate in Nursing or Master's Degree in Nursing with a focus on clinical practice.
Physician Assistant: Completion of a formal Physician Assistant training program from an accredited institution with NCCPA certification.
Certifications and Licenses
- Nurse Practitioner: BLS required; ACLS preferred; Current Ohio RN license; Current APRN license in Ohio.
- Physician Assistant: BLS required; ACLS preferred; NCCPA-certified; DEA license.
