A Brief Overview
Maintains clinical equipment through the effective use of the Medical Equipment Management Plan. Performs a variety of routine tasks associated with the installation, maintenance, calibration and repair of a limited scope of medical equipment under the guidance and direct supervision of an experienced healthcare technology management (HTM) professional.
What You Will Do
Repairs and maintains general biomedical equipment (non-life support or non-critical care)
IV pumps
Vital sign monitor
Thermometers
Etc.
Performs scheduled and nonscheduled PM checks on general biomedical equipment (non-life support or noncritical medical equipment).
Documents work orders and PM checks.
Provides basic level of technical support to clinical staff.
Assists HTM II and HTM III with diagnoses and repair of critical / high-risk biomedical equipment.
Understands and manages input of critical data points needed for cyber security program.
Orders parts and materials as needed.
Assists with biomed coverage of other UH system sites as training progresses.
Additional Responsibilities
Performs other duties as assigned.
Complies with all policies and standards.

Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
Qualifications : Education
Associate's Degree in Biomedical Equipment, Technology, Electronics or equivalent technical training. (Required)
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
All electronics maintenance is considered. (Required proficiency)
Biomed specific exposure via technical schools or internship programs. (Preferred proficiency)
References for previous technical employment or exposure. (Required proficiency)
Electronic and mechanical troubleshooting skills. (Required proficiency)
Computer and documentation competency. (Required proficiency)
Technical language proficiency. (Required proficiency)
Willingness to learn new technology. (Required proficiency)
