UH Elyria Medical Center is a 23-bed inpatient unit that provides care to surgical, medical, gastrointestinal, wound, end-of-life, and trauma patients.

A Brief Overview
The Registered Nurse (RN) provides safe, efficient, age-specific nursing care to patients/families using the nursing process to assist them in attaining, maintaining, regaining, and sustaining optimal health status.
Responsibilities
- Functions in accordance with the professional standards of the Ohio board of nursing.
- Completes/submits required documentation.
- Delivers effective relationship-based nursing care.
- Demonstrates technical skills in care delivery that result in safe practice and positive care outcomes.
- Demonstrates clear communication and effective collaboration to optimize patient care and clinical operations.
- Develops self and contributes to the professional practice of nursing.
Additional Responsibilities
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Complies with all policies and standards.
- Maintains Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients and adheres to annual training, the UH Code of Conduct, and UH policies and procedures.
Qualifications
Education
- Completion of an accredited nursing program or currently enrolled in a nursing program.
Work Experience
- 2 years of nursing experience.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Knowledge of RN scope of practice according to the Ohio board of nursing.
- Uses a wide variety of technical equipment to meet patient needs and prescribed clinical therapies.
- Leadership skills, including committee involvement and peer reviews.
Licenses and Certifications
- Registered Nurse (RN), Ohio and/or Multi-State Compact License.
- Basic Life Support (BLS).
