Job Summary
This position fully performs basic Medical Assistant duties, facilitating unit operations by managing patient flow. Key responsibilities include front desk duties such as scheduling patients, collecting and verifying patient payor information, and maintaining accurate patient documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Complies with all policies and standards
- Maintains confidentiality of Protected Health Information (PHI) in accordance with UH policies and procedures
Requirements
Education
- Completion of a Medical Assistant Program is required
Work Experience
- 1 years of clinical experience as a Medical Assistant is preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Able to communicate effectively with people from varied socioeconomic backgrounds
- Able to organize changing work assignments
- Medical terminology knowledge is preferred
Licenses and Certifications
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) is preferred
