Description
A Brief Overview
This position is responsible for performing basic Medical Assistant duties in support of Orthopedic providers at University Hospitals.
Responsibilities include working in offices in Chardon, Twinsburg (three Mondays a month), and Solon (three Fridays a month).
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitates unit operations by managing patient flow and optimizing the clinic experience.
- Assists with front desk duties specific to the department, including scheduling patients, collecting and verifying patient payor information, and maintaining accurate patient documentation.
Additional Duties
- Performs other duties as assigned to ensure seamless clinical operations.
- Complies with all policies and standards, prioritizing the safety and security of Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients.
- Must abide by all requirements to maintain PHI, adhering to UH Code of Conduct, and relevant policies and procedures.
Requirements
Education
- Completion of a Medical Assistant Program.
Work Experience
- Clinical experience is preferred.
Skills and Abilities
- Able to communicate effectively with people from varied socioeconomic backgrounds.
- Able to organize changing work assignments and prioritize tasks efficiently.
- Medical terminology knowledge is a plus.
Licenses and Certifications
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification is highly desirable.
