Era Living is seeking a full-time Life Enrichment Director to become the newest member of our Life Enrichment team at our University House Wallingford Community, Seattle, WA. Shifts will be scheduled Sunday - Thursday, 09 : 00am - 05 : 30pm, candidate needs to be flexible based on events.

Primary Responsibilities :
This role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Life Enrichment department. You will manage a team of recreation activity professionals, design, facilitate, and provide a comprehensive activity program that meets the needs and preferences of all residents and enhances their whole lives interacting with our residents on a dally-basis.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities :
Design, facilitate, schedule and conduct a comprehensive activities program that meets the needs and preferences of all of the residents in the communityEffectively develop and implement Community Relations eventsDesign monthly the community’s main activity calendarSchedule, announce, facilitate, and keep records of the Resident Monthly Council meetingEnsure that the community newsletter is prepared and distributedComplete new Resident Profile and share this information with the Community Health department as requiredCoordinate resident transportation with Life Enrichment staff and the Wellness Center as neededPartner with residents to find appropriate volunteer opportunitiesDesign and lead a variety of physical fitness programs based on residents’ abilities and clinical needs; Oversee memory health programs and brain health activities implementing recommended programs as requiredDevelop a meaningful and accurate budget for annual activity programProvide mobility support for residents when out of the communityOversee company vehicle maintenance and cleanlinessKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities :
Ability to design creative programs for persons at all levels of clinical and cognitive skill levelsExperience leading fitness groups or working with senior fitness programs, preferredSensitive to the needs and concerns of older adultsAbility to schedule tasks effectively to meet strict deadlines and within allotted timeAbility to maintain resident confidentiality to assure all rights are protectedComputer proficiency : able to use a variety of programs including Word, Outlook, Publisher, and ExcelAbility to read, write and communicate in EnglishAbility to pass DSHS background check, requiredExperience managing employees, requiredExperience working with seniors, preferredEducation and Experience :
Bachelor’s degree in Recreation or Therapeutic Recreation and / or CTRS, preferred or 1 years of similar experience, requiredValid WA State Driver License, requiredAt the discretion of the Executive Director and if needed to meet the operational requirements of the community, able to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL). Must be 25 years’ old.Complete CDL Supervisor training as required for communities with CDL drivers within 30 days of hirePrevious experience working with older adults or persons with cognitive impairments, preferredComplete 12 hours of Continuing Education Credits (CEUs) yearly (completed by birth date)Experience working with program design and developmentFirst Aid and CPR certified or able to obtain within 30 days of hire, requiredFood Handler’s Certificate or able to obtain within 14 days of hire, requiredWashington State Alcohol Permit or able to obtain within 30 days of hire, requiredComplete Caregiver Dementia and Caregiver Mental Health training within 120 days of hire, requiredMust complete 70 hour course to earn a long term care aide certificate within 120 days of hire, requiredNot required if worked in boarding home setting in 2011About Era Living :
