General Summary:
The Intercompany Accountant is responsible for managing and ensuring the accuracy of financial records, reconciliations, and transactions across multiple business entities. This role focuses on maintaining general ledgers, conducting period-end closings, and providing insightful financial reporting and analysis in alignment with GAAP. This position also includes managing decisions around how entities cooperate with each other.
Essential Job Requirements:
· Maintain general ledgers for multiple entities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
· Record and reconcile intercompany transactions, eliminating duplications and discrepancies across entities.
· Reconciling intercompany combined balances under the J Squared parent.
· Prepare and post journal entries related to each entity, ensuring proper allocation.
· Prepare financial statements for each entity, consolidating reports for management review.
· Reconcile accounts receivable and payable balances for each entity and resolve any discrepancies.
· Complete bank reconciliations for multiple entities on a regular basis, identifying and resolving any differences.
· Support audits and bank requests by gathering, preparing, and providing documentation for each entity.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong understanding of accounting principles (GAAP) and cost accounting practices in a multi-entity setting.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with ERP systems is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-pacedenvironment.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required, with 3-5 years of relevant experience in a multi-entity environment with industry specialization in either manufacturing or real estate preferred.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP systems are essential.
Physical Requirements:
This position involves extended use of computers and regular interaction with team members across departments.
