University Medical Partners (UMP), a partner of Stanford Medicine, is seeking a full-time AI and Automation Specialist to join our UMP Management Services Team in Newark, CA. This role will drive UMP’s AI and automation initiatives, optimize processes, and support education of team members on cutting-edge AI technologies.
Position Details:
- Lead the design and implementation of AI-driven automation solutions to streamline operations across our 18 specialties and 40 physical locations
- Develop and optimize Python scripts for process automation and AI integration
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for AI adoption and operational improvement
- Conduct prompt engineering for various AI models and applications
- Analyze and interpret complex data sets, including potential use of healthcare data
- Provide training and education to UMP Management Services Team on AI concepts and applications in healthcare
- Stay up to date with the advancements in AI, machine learning, and automation technologies
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field (Master’s degree is a plus)
- 1-2 years of experience in AI, machine learning, or related fields (or equivalent advanced education)
- Proficiency in Python programming
- Experience with AI frameworks and libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch)
- Familiarity with SQL and data manipulation.
- Experience with Snowflake or other cloud-based data platforms.
- Understanding of healthcare data systems and privacy regulations (e.g., HIPAA).
- Knowledge of responsible AI practices and AI ethics.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Work Arrangement Expectation:
This position is designated as a hybrid role, which requires the employee to work onsite at the Newark location located at 7999 Gateway Blvd., Suite 200, Newark, CA 94560 one (1) day per week, with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. The specific onsite schedule may be subject to change based on business needs and must be coordinated with the employee’s supervisor.
