What are the responsibilities and job description for the HEAD COACH - WOMEN'S GOLF position at University of Alabama at Birmingham?
Directs the operation of a particular athletic program related to a specific athletic sport. Duties include coaching, planning, organizing, scouting, recruiting, and training athletes for competition. Use working knowledge of skills to prepare game and practice plans to benefit the growth of the student athlete. Assists and encourages student athletes in pursuit of academic and athletic excellence. Oversees the academic progress of the student athlete in conjunction with the academic advisor. Counsels all student athletes as needed in academic, disciplinary and personal matters. Adheres to established budget guidelines and rules as defined by Conference USA, UAB and the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). Monitors progress of student athletes through various training programs. Represents UAB in professional, civic, charity and alumni events. Serves as the program s contact for administrators in regards to budget, rules compliance, and other duties customarily designated to a Head Coach. Adheres to all institutional conference and NCAA rules and regulations and reports all known NCAA violations in accordance with institutional, conference and NCAA policies and guidelines.
Bachelor's degree in a related field and four (4) years of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.
