Position Summary:
The position of Manager of Fiscal Affairs will sit in the Department of Medical Education.They will oversee and manage the financial operations of the Department of Medical Education. This position ensures compliance with established accounting principles, financial analysis, and budgeting procedures. The Manager will supervise daily departmental accounting activities, including processing financial transactions, managing vendor interactions, and adhering to institutional policies.This role also includes monitoring and reporting on financial resources, developing and managing budgets, and providing financial analysis to support decision-making. This role also involves supervising a team responsible for financial system updates, ensuring accurate reporting, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
The Manager of Fiscal Affairs will collaborate closely with senior leaders to provide recommendations for financial improvements, short-term investments, revenue generation activities, and other financial strategies. This position will also serve as a liaison between the department and higher-level administration, supporting both strategic financial planning and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will have experience with BA4 accounting software, pre- and post-award grant administration, scholarships, endowments, and student fees.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business or a related field and seven (7) years of related experience is required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversees the financial operations and budgeting processes of assigned department(s) or school.
- Prepares financial reports, forecasts and ad hoc reports to provide insight into the financial health of the assigned area(s).
- Ensures that all financial activities comply with university policies, state and federal regulations, and other relevant guidelines.
- Oversees the financial aspects of grants, including budgeting, expenditure tracking, and reporting to funding agencies
- Assists in the creation and implementation of financial policies and procedures to improve efficiency and maintain accountability.
- Works with department heads, faculty, and/or staff to allocate resources effectively, including funding for projects, staff salaries, and operational expenses.
- Manages a team of financial analysts, accountants, and/or other staff responsible for various fiscal functions.
- Perform other duties as assigned
