The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) seeks a Research Financial Administrator-HSOM for the Department of Hematology and Oncology. The Research Financial Administrator-HSOM will serve as the primary administrative contact for one or more complex research and training programs. They will also plan and provide logistical and administrative support for pre- and/or post-study related events with the Principal Investigator (PI). Additionally, they will assist in the financial management of site studies and participate in the development and execution of budgets and service agreements with other institutions and/or service providers.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Bachelor’s degree in a related field and three (3) years of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirements.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Facilitates the management, administration and coordination of one or more complex research and training programs under the direction of the investigator/s. Administers and provides oversight of grant program including program budget, marketing compliance and reporting.
- Assists in financial management of site studies and participates in development and execution of budget and service agreements with other institutions and/or service providers.
- Prepares reports with PI for funding agencies. Prepares, submits and manages regulatory documents and ensures compliance as well as accurate and timely submissions with regulatory agencies.
- Maintains knowledge of current trends and development of policies and procedures for research activities. Maintains and ensures adherence to standard operating procedures.
- Manages collection of data in research activities including quality control and assurance of data integrity.
- May include clinical research activities.
- May ensure accurate and timely Institutional Review Board for Human Use (IRB) submissions and compliance.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
