What are the responsibilities and job description for the Temporary Services: Animal Laboratory Technician I position at University of Alabama at Birmingham?
Animal Lab Technicians are responsible for the husbandry/cage wash of all animals used in ongoing research projects at UAB. This role is critical for the university to achieve standard care of animals used in research. Job is an apprenticeship in laboratory animal technology. Provides training and experience toward acquiring competence in caring for laboratory animals of different species and specialized colonies. Receives continuous training and experience towards acquiring competence in caring for laboratory animals of different species and specialized colonies (i.e. pathogen free, germ free, and biohazard, etc.)
