ALUMNI OFFICER – ENGAGEMENT
The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) seeks an Alumni Officer for engagement within the Office of Advancement’s Alumni Affairs team. The Alumni Officer provides support and executes events and programs focused on alumni engagement. This position will provide input to the Director of Alumni Engagement on alumni engagement strategies while also interfacing with alumni in meaningful ways.
This position reports directly to the Director of Alumni Engagement.
This position is full-time, hybrid eligible after the probationary period.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Organize, coordinate, and staff events for the constituency-based and regional alumni networks that appeal to alumni, donors, and friends
- Collaborate with alumni affairs colleagues in other offices on campus to develop strategies, goals, and objectives for alumni participation
- Communicate opportunities for participation to alumni and friends through regular engagement, including telephone calls, emails, and other correspondence
- Perform other duties as assigned
Salary Range: $47,665 - $54,000
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Communications, and/or Marketing or related field
- 2 years of experience
- Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Traveling required for this role
- Must be able to lift 30 lbs
- Must be able to stand for an extended period of time during an event
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in program implementation, alumni engagement, event planning, non-profit, or a university setting
- Commitment to customer service and the ability to work collaboratively across units
- Flexibility to accommodate changing priorities and deadlines
- Comfortable working in a team environment
- Interpersonal and problem-solving skills with the ability to navigate a complex work environment
- Demonstrated writing skills
- Ability to network and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- CRM usage and management
