Summary: The Sparks Clinic seeks a professional to assess, plan, and manage audiology programs within the Heersink School of Medicine (HSOM), following physician referrals. The role involves evaluating the hearing of patients with ear abnormalities and auditory disorders. Additionally, the position includes providing rehabilitation services focused on hearing loss prevention, communication retraining, and hearing aid adaptation as required.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Administers hearing assessments to children to gather information on the type and severity of their hearing impairment.
- Provides auditory rehabilitation services, including evaluating and fitting hearing aids and assistive listening devices, tailored to the unique needs of each child.
- Prepares detailed reports of diagnostic test results for patient records and collaborates with pediatricians, specialists, and clinic management for further interpretation, analysis, or recommendations when necessary.
Experience: Experience with audiometric testing equipment and hearing aid fitting, as well as familiarity with computer systems for documenting test results and patient data.

Salary Range: $63,875 - $90,000
Requirement: Master's degree in Audiology or a related field required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.
Licensed: Licensed or eligible to be licensed by the Alabama Board of Examiners for Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology (ABESPA) required. Must complete clinical fellowship and receive Certificate of Clinical Competence within designated timeframe. Currently certified with Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) required.
Preferred Skills: Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Organizational skills to prioritize workload and meet deadlines
