The Vulcan Materials Academic Success Center (VMASC) at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) is seeking a dynamic and innovative leader for the position of Director of Student Success. Reporting to the Executive Director of Academic Success, this role is pivotal in developing, implementing, and assessing programs and initiatives designed to enhance student success, retention, and persistence across diverse populations. The Director of Student Success will work collaboratively with campus partners, faculty, and staff to provide a supportive and inclusive environment that fosters academic excellence and holistic student development.
General Responsibilities:
To develop, implement and coordinate academic support initiatives that meet the learning, and transition needs of undergraduate UAB students. To lead a professional staff that is current and knowledgeable in the best and most innovative practices in the area of academic support as well as transition issues. To establish and implement strategic plans for the growth and operation of the Academic Success Center in alignment with University priorities.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
(Annual Salary: $63,875 - $82,000)
Master's degree in Business, Advising, Counseling, Education or a related field and five (5) years of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Proven ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
- Experience with data analysis and using technology to support student success initiatives
