The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) is seeking a GRANTS ADMINISTRATOR I - HSOM To prepare, refine, review and submit fully populated and complete sponsored research proposals for an assigned department within the School of Medicine (SOM). They will also review the drafts of all grant components. As well as work in partnership with investigators to request and procure, edit and upload other support and biosketch documents. This position will work with the research admin team on pre and post award. Position will also submit proposals and follow them through to approval and monitor budgets and track grant spending.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Aids in reviewing budgets to ensure that salaries, fringe rates, indirect costs rate are correct
- Leads meetings with investigators to review monthly accounts.
- Monitoring spending while grant is active, ensuring that progress reports and financial reports are submitted when due, and assisting in all grant closeout activities.
- Reviews biosketches and other support documents.
- Responsible for monitoring all research related expenditures and notifying investigators when spending is higher than a particular funding source will allow.
- Gathers materials needed for proposal preparation and submission.
- Serve as the primary liaison to manage the administration of the sub-award agreement with the lead organization
- Perform other duties as assigned
Salary range: $43,890 - $71,320.00
Bachelor's degree in a related field and one (1) year of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.
