What are the responsibilities and job description for the PROGRAM MANAGER I position at University of Alabama, Birmingham?
Position Summary:
Responsible for administratively managing a University department under the general direction of a functional Program Director or under the auspices of a Program Advising Committee and according to an established program plan. May participate in the development of program objectives and is responsible for achieving objectives within defined parameters set by University and/or department policies and procedures or technical principles.
May require fiscal management of grants and other funds. May manage multiple programs. Requires the use of independent judgment to determine the best approach to accomplish objectives established in the program plan. May supervise staff as needed.
This project consists of a network of providers / agencies and requires a network director.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Facilitate regular meetings of the network members.
- Collaborate with regional hospitals to promote the use of One Alabama for improving real-time notifications to primary care providers when patients are seen in the emergency department, facilitating follow-up care.
- Encourage use of care coordination services of My Care Alabama for children with asthma.
- Promote referrals to the ADPH Asthma Home Visiting Program Advocate for referrals of children to asthma camps
- Lead the establishment of a satellite asthma clinic in the area
- Perform other duties as assigned
Salary Range: $43,890 - $60,000
Bachelor's degree in a related field and two (2) years of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.
Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration (BA), Business Management, or a related field
