What are the responsibilities and job description for the STUDENT SUCCESS MANAGER-HONORS ENGAGEMENT position at University of Alabama, Birmingham?
To provide leadership and support to the Honors College in the areas including student success, mentoring and advising, career enhancement and professional development, community engagement and service, and other programming of the Honors College. To act as a role model demonstrating professional behaviors. To think critically and strategically to identify needs and propose new and innovative solutions.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Engage with administrators and faculty to develop, manage and implement student programming and learning opportunities in the Honors College related to student success, community engagement and service, mentorship, career planning and professional development. (May serve as an academic advisor and/or career advisor to students.)
- Engage in and support the development of innovative student programming, provide input into the development and/or modification of program objectives, and assess program outcomes.
- Develop and coordinate special Honors College events and engagement initiatives for students.
- Develop effective promotional strategies for programming and initiatives and prepare informational materials for dissemination.
- May establish and enhance external relationships to develop and increase mentoring, service, and community engagement opportunities for students.
- Represent the Honors College in engagement initiatives with the campus and community.
- May serve as staff liaison for Honors College student organizations and support programming by those groups.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Annual Salary Range $47,665 - $58,000
Master's degree in Business, Public Administration, Higher Education Administration, Leadership Development, Counseling, or a related field, and four (4) years of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.
