What are the responsibilities and job description for the Litigation Paralegal - Birmingham, Alabama position at University of Alabama System Office?
The University of Alabama System is receiving applications for the position of Litigation Paralegal. This is an on-site position based in Birmingham on the campus of The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). The Ligation Paralegal provides litigation support to multiple University Counsel and the Litigation Coordinator in the UAB Office of Counsel under limited supervision.
Essential Duties
- Assist with calendaring key deadlines
- Assist with third-party subpoena responses
- Assist with preservation requests and litigation holds
- Assist with document production for litigation and pre-litigation matters
- Coordinate meetings with key personnel as requested by subpoena or otherwise
Minimum Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible litigation experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- Paralegal certification from an accredited program
- Previous experience in healthcare litigation
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to maintain strict standards of confidentiality
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
- Excellent organizational and project management skills
- Strong technical skills, including proficiency in all Microsoft programs
- Professional appearance and demeanor
