Pay Grade/Pay Range: Minimum: $27.21 - Midpoint: $35.35 (Hourly N9)
Department/Organization: 201014 - SHC Nursing
Normal Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm; occasional evening/weekend hours as needed.
Job Summary: The RN I provides professional nursing care to patients. Reviews physicians' orders for accuracy and authorization prior to implementing them. Prescribes and initiates nursing treatment through direct, assisted, or delegation to other staff.
Additional Department Summary: This is a 9-month position (August-May), and will be assigned to the Student Health Center.
Provides direct patient care activities to the highest degree of licensure. Partners with clinical staff and providers to maintain established standards and ensure delivery of high quality patient care. Partners with CCHS enterprise services (including Health Informatics, Medical Billing, Medical Records and others) to ensure patient billing and documentation are complete, accurate, and follow all privacy/security and other regulatory requirements.
Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Registered Nurse (RN) License in the State of Alabama in good standing. Must have a current CPR certification and have used an electronic health record system in a previous learning or employed role.
Final candidates must submit to and successfully pass a post-offer drug screen.
Skills and Knowledge: Ability to perform patient care as directed by a physician, nurse practitioner, or other qualified medical professional. Efficient and accurate computer and data entry skills. Excellent communication, public relations and customer service and telephone etiquette skills. Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment. Desire to exemplify the core values and mission of the organization, always exercising utmost discretion, diplomacy, and tact in patient/staff interactions. Willingness to learn and consistently deliver patient-centered, high-quality customer friendly service. Ability to maintain strict confidentially of protected health information and follow FERPA/HIPAA regulations at all times. Punctual and reliable, ability to work extended hours as needed during busier clinic times.
