Job Summary : The Training Coordinator develops, plans, organizes, directs, and oversees specialized training programs for a college, department, or division. Consults with subject matter experts and stakeholders as appropriate. Evaluates training effectiveness and achievement of learning outcomes and institutes changes or adjustments as appropriate. Provides coaching for Training Specialists and others as appropriate.

Additional Department Summary : Oversees the daily operations and development of the Title IV-E Simulation Program and the Child Welfare Training Program, including the scheduling, facilitating, administration, and evaluation of the two programs. Provides simulated learning experiences. Meets with faculty members to develop competency based (CSWE) scenarios, which are hands-on experiences with standardized participants in various settings for students. These scenarios are for face-to-face and distance (online) learners and for both undergraduate and graduate students. Provides evidence-informed training through a multifaceted agenda including face to face, simulation, and virtual modalities to new DHR employees and other employees identified by DHR who have responsibilities in Family Services. Collaborates with Alabama DHR Title IV-E representative and Title IV-E Administrator to develop competency-based training experiences for DHR new hires state-wide and others as desired. Collaborates with DHR, University, and the instructional design team to monitor and evaluate curriculum for effectiveness and desired outcomes. Revises curriculum as needed. Manages, monitors, and tracks expenditures of the Title IV-E Child Welfare Training Program's and the Simulation Program budgets to make sure they are both in compliance with Title IV-E regulations. Assists college's fiscal office with new hire process for trainers and standardized participants. Ensures all employees are in compliance with regards to training and effort reporting. Develops the materials for the administration, oversight, and evaluation of the programs.

Required Minimum Qualifications : Bachelor's degree and four (4) years of creating and / or facilitating training experience; OR master's degree and two (2) years creating and / or facilitating training experience.

Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications : Must have valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies. Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions.

Must be able to travel in-state and out of state and work irregular hours as needed.

Skills and Knowledge : Ability to independently make decisions with minimal supervision. Strong critical thinking and organizational skills. Strong project management skills. Excellent communication skills. Ability to independently think with both creativity and reason to make sound decisions on how responsibilities are completed in compliance with CSWE (social work education), ASPE (simulated learning education), and AL DHR policies. Ability to work well in a multiethnic, multicultural environment with students, faculty, and staff. A high degree of professionalism, discretion, and judgment. Program evaluation or applied research expertise. Adaptable work habits to allow for flexibility when developing and scheduling trainings and simulations, both face-to-face and online. Experience with basic office software such as Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred Qualifications : Master's degree in education, social work, or psychology and two (2) years' experience in teaching, training, or adult education. Experience CAE Simulation Management System. Some child welfare practice knowledge. Some supervisory experience
