Normal Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am to 4:45pm
Job Summary: The UA Early College Program Manager designs, develops, implements, and manages program(s) within UA Early College. Oversees all marketing, recruitment, and communications for the program. Serves as liaison between the program and contacts internal and external to the University. Hires, trains, and supervises Peer Mentor/Residential student staff. Assists the Director with the financial management of program budget(s).
Additional Department Summary: Develops, coordinates, and facilitates the implementation of the UA Early College Summer on Campus program, a residential program for high school students earning college credit through The University of Alabama. Approximately 50 students attend each session (June and July). Develops, coordinates, and facilitates the implementation of the UA Early College LEAP Camps, which are week-long camps for rising ninth-grade students. Approximately 60 students attend each session, of which there are two. Working closely with the Assistant Director of Student Success, Assistant Director of Marketing and Recruitment, and Assistant Director of Advising, Enrollment, and Outreach, plans, outlines, and organizes all programs, recruitment, and marketing for the Summer on Campus and LEAP programs. Manages live-in residence staff for the Summer on Campus program and camp counselors for the LEAP Program. Some night and weekend work is required, especially during the summer months.
Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and four (4) years of K-12, higher education, or continuing education experience; OR master's degree and two (2) years of K-12, higher education, or continuing education experience.
Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Must have valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies. Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions.
Skills and Knowledge: Interest in working with junior high school and high school students. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal skills. Demonstrate poise and an ability to relate incredibly well with middle and high school students, parents, and educators. Ability to work with different cultures and groups of people. Possesses the characteristics of a self-starter and independent worker.
Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience working with junior high school and high school students. Housing and residential community experience, or experience working in a college/university setting. Experience with Slate CRM and Blackboard Learn as well as experience with marketing for an extensive program.
