The UAF Student Health and Counseling Center offers primary health care, counseling, health education, and assistance with student health insurance. We are seeking a skilled medical assistant to join our team. This role involves working in both the medical and reception areas to support the delivery of medical services to UAF students. Responsibilities include greeting patients, taking vital signs, preparing exam rooms, performing assigned lab procedures, recording patient information in electronic medical records, and completing various tasks related to medical care under the direct supervision of a licensed medical provider.

The medical assistant reports to the medical area supervisor. This position follows a 12-month contract, with full-time hours during the academic year and part-time hours (approximately 1.5 months) during the summer, from May to August. Some evening hours are required for this role.

Minimum Qualifications:

Graduation from a certified medical assistant program and two years relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Associate’s degree and medical assistant certification is preferred

Position Details:

This is a full-time (during the academic year) while remaining part-time (1.5 months) during summer, non-exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package. New hires will be placed on the UA Staff Salary Schedule, Grade 77, based on education and experience.
