Kenai Peninsula College is seeking a dedicated and dynamic Residence Hall Coordinator to lead the reopening of the Kenai River Campus’ Residence Hall facility. This live-in position plays a critical role in creating a safe, engaging, and supportive living-learning environment for students.

The Residence Hall Coordinator will play an essential role in reopening the residence hall to year-round students. This person will oversee all aspects of housing operations, including occupancy management, student assignments, and move-in/move-out procedures. They will coordinate with campus facilities to ensure proper maintenance and collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop policies and strategies for student retention, compliance, and overall hall management.

The Residence Hall Coordinator will also play an essential role in hiring and then supervising and mentoring Resident Advisors (RAs), conducting regular staff meetings, and ensuring professional development opportunities for residential staff. As part of their responsibilities, they will provide 24-hour on-call crisis response on a rotating basis, addressing student safety concerns, emergencies, and wellness issues. Additionally, they will coordinate residence life programming by developing educational, social, and recreational activities that foster academic success and personal growth. This position also includes managing short-term use of the facility for conference housing and events, working closely with internal departments to facilitate contracts, room assignments, and overall guest experience.

This role requires strong communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to student success. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to enforce policies, mediate conflicts, and coordinate across departments to maintain a well-functioning residential community. CPR & First Aid certification will be required upon hire. In exchange for on-campus housing, the Residence Hall Coordinator is expected to maintain an active and visible presence in the residential community, working occasional irregular hours to meet student needs.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in a related field and two years progressively responsible relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

This is a live-in position, requiring the employee to reside in a residence hall apartment at the Kenai Peninsula College campus in Soldotna.

Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Student Affairs, Higher Education, Business Administration, Human Development.

Position Details:

This position is located on the Kenai Peninsula College campus in Soldotna. This is a full-time, exempt staff position complete with a competitive salary, free onsite student housing, and full employee benefits package. UA provides a generous compensation package that includes retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and affordable medical, dental and vision care coverage. New hires will be placed on the UA Staff Salary Schedule, Grade 79, based on education and experience.
