The Student Success Coordinator primarily acts as a central point of contact for students, providing guidance, assistance, and support with various academic, personal, and administrative needs, often working closely with faculty, counselors, and other departments to ensure students successfully navigate their educational journey; their responsibilities may include managing student concerns, connecting students with relevant resources, facilitating academic advising, and coordinating support programs for specific student populations like those facing financial difficulties or academic challenges.

The ideal candidate for this position will possess a strong understanding of, or the ability to quickly learn, the university's structure, procedures, and protocols. They should be skilled in interpreting complex rules, regulations, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance and effective operations. Exceptional customer service and communication skills are essential to thrive in a diverse, team-oriented environment. Proficiency in computer literacy, including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and scheduling software, is required, along with the ability to accurately type, edit, format, and proofread documents to meet professional correspondence standards. Strong planning and organizational skills are critical to managing multiple deadlines, maintaining accurate digital filing systems for easy retrieval, and compiling data for grant reporting purposes. The successful candidate will be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and a collaborative team player, with the flexibility to travel to regional villages up to 10% of the time.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in education, management, or related field, or comparable experience.

An unrestricted Alaska driver’s license and clean driving record in compliance with UA Safe Driving criteria is required.

Position Details:

This position is located on the Kuskokwim campus in Bethel, AK. This is a full-time, 11.5-month, exempt staff position with a competitive salary and a full employee benefits package. UA provides a generous compensation package that includes retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and affordable medical, dental and vision care coverage. New hires will be placed on the UA Staff Salary Schedule, Grade 79, based on education and experience.
