Department: Nursing Department's Website: Summary of Job Duties: Serve as teaching faculty in the Department of Nursing. Duties are as follows: Ability to plan and prepare course content and curriculum, utilizing effective teaching methodologies. Maintain expertise in field of study and teaching pedagogy/andragogy. Maintain active participation in professional organizations as appropriate. Assist with accreditation processes, documents and handbooks. Make recommendations to Department Chairperson regarding budgetary needs. Participate in Advisory Board meetings. Participate in student recruitment. Prepare course syllabi using departmental/university template.  Assist in the development of the departmental course schedule. Provide required forms and papers to the Registrar’s Office within the specified time frame. Maintain appropriate records of student performance. Demonstrate procedures in nursing skill laboratory, supervise student demonstrations, evaluate student performances and shows progressive mastery of simulations. Provide input in the curriculum development. Participate in departmental and university committees as assigned. Advise students as needed. Counsel and advise students as needed. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Masters in Nursing Science degree required; doctorate preferred. Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse license or eligible to be licensed in the state of Arkansas. Three to five years teaching experience preferably in a BSN education program. Strong communication skills and the ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds and experiences.
