Summary of Job Duties :

The Financial Aid Professional I works with the Financial Aid Professional I and Financial Aid Manager I to process FAFSA applications that have been selected for the verification process. This position verifies the accuracy of financial aid applicant’s reported data and may communicate with students and / or parents to request additional required information.

This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency / institution policy.

Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

Qualifications :

Minimum Qualifications :

The formal education equivalent of a high school diploma

At least one year of experience in a specialized or related area applicable to work performed

Preferred Qualifications :

Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education

Experience with the Microsoft Office suite

Experience working with federal financial aid

Experience using the university student information system and document review programs, such as Perceptive Content

Work experience in ERP systems like PeopleSoft or Workday Student

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs) :

Effectively use interpersonal and communications skills including tact and diplomacy

Attention to detail, accuracy, and follow through skills

Ability to work effectively with supervision and as a part of a team

Ability to understand and follow oral and written directions

Ability to have sound judgment to identify and report problems to supervisors and contribute to resolving them

Ability to maintain the confidentiality of the variety of material that will be handled
