Summary of Job Duties :
The role of the Food Preparation Assistant is to supplement the quality of the childcare program by assisting the Food Preparation Supervisor in the kitchen. The assistant will aid in all tasks related to managing the kitchen which include but are not limited to : cleaning and preparing food items; operating a variety of kitchen utensils and equipment; utilizing knowledge of temperature requirements and spoilage to prepare and serve hot / cold food; washing and sanitizing dishes, food preparation areas, and equipment, following all Center policies and standards; and other duties as needed. The FPA will also serve as a substitute when the Kitchen Manager has scheduled or unscheduled time off.
Available for regularly scheduled shifts between the hours of 10 : 00 a.m. and 4 : 00 p.m. Monday through Friday
Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

Minimum Qualifications :
The formal education equivalent of a high school diploma
At least one year of experience in institutional or commercial cooking
Willing to attend Serv Safe courses and keep the certification maintained
