Summary of Job Duties :
The Power Plant Operator Skilled Trades Helper assists with Boiler Maintenance and Operations of steam line preventive maintenance and repair; maintaining UA distribution systems and production equipment for steam, condensate, power, chilled water, heating water, and compressed air. Inspect distribution systems regularly for deficiencies and report to management; perform repairs on system equipment : i.e. replace pump seals, replace condensate return systems, installation of valves, installation of pipe and fittings, installation of pumps, etc.
Regular, reliable and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.
Qualifications :
Minimum Qualifications :
Completion of sufficient education or training to read and write
A valid driver’s license for legal operation of a motor vehicle in the State of Arkansas
At least one year of related experience
Preferred Qualifications :
Boiler Operator License
At least one year of industrial and / or mechanical plant experience or equivalent experience where machine operation is emphasized
Basic computer knowledge and experience
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :
Knowledge of basic measuring tools, equipment, and materials used in the various skilled trades
Skill in the use, operation, and care of tools and machinery
Ability to perform manual labor under various working conditions
Ability to use hand and power tools in various working conditions
Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions
Ability to communicate information and ideas in various environments
Additional Information :
Must be able to obtain a High-pressure boiler license within 6 months of hire
Salary Information :
39,930.00 - $43,923.00 commensurate with education and experience
