Minimum Qualifications
- High School diploma/GED plus two (2) years of laboratory or Assistant in a Clinical Laboratory or 60 hours of completed higher education in a health sciences programs
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous anatomic pathology, gross room, or morgue experience
Additional Information:
- Prepares, maintains, and performs function checks on analyzers, laboratory equipment, and automation equipment.
- Provides technical information about specimen collection, sample transport, sample identification, required documents, test methods and other related technical information to registered nurses, physicians, and laboratory clients.
- Receives patient samples and conducts analysis of biological samples. Uses laboratory computer systems to order tests, generate results, generate reports, track and retrieve specimens and document communications.
- Performs quality control and calibrations, assesses for acceptability, and takes corrective action as required. Performs basic troubleshooting on equipment used for patient testing and automation equipment. Works with service representatives as needed to facilitate instrument repairs.
