Summary of Job Duties : A Medical Laboratory Scientist II in the core section is experienced in laboratory testing in the areas of hematology, coagulation, immunology, chemistry, and / or special chemistry in a hospital setting and performs quality assurance metric studies, training, and competency assessment.Qualifications :
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor of Science Degree from regionally accredited university in medical technology, medical laboratory science, or approved biological science
2 years of clinical laboratory experience
ASCP or equivalent certification as an MLS, MT, or discipline specific certification (C, H)
Knowledge / experience with advanced troubleshooting and advanced maintenance on high volume analyzers, training other technologists, checking competencies, performing validations on high-volume and low-volume analyzers, performing CAP and quality control reviews, and doing quality assurance projects
Preferred Qualifications
More than 2 years clinical laboratory experience including 1 year of experience in instrumentation currently in use in the core lab. Knowledge of testing methods currently in use in core lab.
The core section is a 24 / 7 laboratory including holidays and weekends. Position may require weekend rotation, call, or overtime.
