Summary of Job Duties:
Mohs Tech works under the direction of the Mohs surgeon during the grossing of specimens. Processes, embeds, cuts, and stains tissue specimens for diagnosis by the Mohs surgeon. Maintains laboratory equipment by ensuring daily cleanliness of the lab area and routine monthly preservation of all equipment. Ensures patient safety through the observation and maintenance of all relevant safety rules.

High School or GED Plus One (1) year of experience related to histology skills
Certified as (ASCP)

Responsibilities:
Performs specimen tissue preparation.
Mounts sections in a proper plane and indicates tumor/normal tissue.
Provides interpretation of prepared sections.
Utilizes proper equipment required for processing specimens.
Obtains supplies and/or equipment and coordinates/maintains routine maintenance of equipment and quality controls.
Provides excellent patient care and support.
Complies with safety procedures.
Performs other duties as assigned.
