Required Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field and/or relevant years of experience.
At least five (5) years of experience managing teams responsible for ERP systems management, integration, reporting, and operations;
Experience with Oracle, PL/SQL, SQL, Shell scripting, and Linux is required.
Preferred Education and/or Experience
Master's Degree in the field of Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field;
Six (6) to eight (8) years of experience managing cross-functional teams and supervisors responsible for ERP systems management and operations;
Experience with scoping, designing, and successfully integrating 3rd party applications;
Experience working with vendors, campus IT partners, and various technical staff members to define and drive technical projects to conclusions is a plus;
Experience with Workday technical workstreams (data conversion, reporting, integrations) is a plus;
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred.
Duties and Responsibilities
Interact with a variety of University stakeholders and effectively manage all activities of programming and enterprise application teams to ensure that prospective applications(s) and/or proposed enhancements or interfaces to applications will meet business requirements;
Coordinate broader departmental effort, including cross-functional leadership, to identify, prioritize, align, manage, and track enterprise application resource allocation and effort reporting, including direct and indirect costs, to support the efficient and effective use of resources. This includes analyzing the performance of programming and enterprise applications teams, overseeing the enterprise application, monitoring incidents, problems, and resolutions;
Act as project lead and responsible for the management, oversight, and completion of assigned enterprise application projects, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within quality and budget criteria. This includes partnering with cross-functional leadership to identify and scope IT needs, projects, and ongoing deliverables, ensuring appropriate resources and constraints are effectively managed and communicated. Also, this includes taking a technical lead role in the Workday Student implementation while continuing to work and support legacy Banner environment enhancements;
Coordinate with IT Leadership to contribute to adequate project intake and governance, portfolio management, and enterprise application project reporting. This includes advising and assisting various campus departments in enterprise application evaluations, purchases, installations, and integrations;
Coordinate and collaborate with various IT teams (Assistance Center, Networks, Systems, Database Administration, Business Engagement, Project Management, Administrative IT, etc.) to ensure optimal uptime, reliability, and usability of ERP systems and critical components. This includes Banner Student, Workday, and more than 50 enterprise applications, data feeds, reports, and interfaces;
Lead, coordinate, and participate in crucial process improvement activities related to software systems and applications on campus. This includes participation in ongoing cyber security risk assessments, documentation, and disaster recovery;
Establish and implement policies, procedures, and technologies to ensure appropriate application, data, and process security. This includes regularly collaborating with supervisory direct reports and team members to ensure all established policies and procedures are enforced within teams;
Maintain adequate coverage, promote cross-training, and provide hands-on programming, reporting, integrations, data conversions, and application support as needed;
Ensure team utilization of appropriate quality assurance, change enablement, Confluence documentation, and source code repository requirements. All enterprise applications should be documented in Confluence to support ongoing and maintenance functions. All required source code should be added to the source code repository;
Identify and recruit; mentor and develop highly effective staff; plan and conduct employee performance appraisals; and administer disciplinary action, raises, bonuses, and promotions when appropriate.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Supervisory experience managing teams responsible for ERP systems, reporting, integrations, and IT Operations;
Advanced knowledge of software operations and implementation of Commercial off-the-Shelf (COTS) and product line software management for large organizations;
Experience in cyber security risk assessment and disaster recovery planning is nice to have;
Business process re-engineering experience, as well as an understanding of the relationship between processes and policies;
A team player and consensus builder with a proven track record of delivering cross-functional projects on time and within budget;
Project management knowledge and experience;
Knowledge of Portfolio Management;
Technically fluent in programming languages, including SQL, PL/SQL, and Shell Scripting;
Experience with the Software Development Life Cycle;
Experience working with both Windows and Linux operating systems;
Experience with the SnapLogic Integration Platform is pleasant to have;
Extensive experience with relational databases; Oracle, MySQL, and SQL Server preferred;
Experience coordinating with and collaborating with vendor partners and campus IT partners;
Ability to analyze problems and develop systematic approaches to resolving them;
Ability to oversee the direction, development, and implementation of software solutions;
Good written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to present ideas in a user-friendly language;
Knowledge of various infrastructure monitoring tools and aptitude to implement various approaches to problem avoidance and elimination;
Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws;
Commitment to excellent customer service;
Ability to work on-call hours as needed.
