The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Cooperative Extension Program is searching to fill the position of Extension Associate-Family and Consumer Sciences in the School of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Human Sciences. The Extension Associate will work closely with the SNAP-Ed Program and will work under the immediate supervision of the Program Outreach Coordinator. The successful candidate must have good workforce ethics and support program management process and impact for SNAP-Ed, and provide support to county program staff.
Job Duties:
*Responsible for keeping up to date on SNAP-Ed travel and program documents.
*Maintain SNAP-Ed educators' document with confidentiality.
*Assist with departmental trainings.
*Order necessary program supplies and materials.
*Coordinate and teach nutrition education to SNAP-Ed recipients in the field.
*Make contact with SNAP-Ed employees provide explanation and interpretation of program document information.
*Generate monthly reports for Program Outreach Coordinator.
*Provide accurate monthly and yearly program reports.
*Assist with SNAP-Ed program audits.
*Establish and maintain effective working relationships with SNAP-Ed educators.Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Human Sciences, Health Education, Public Health, Public Health Nutrition, Community Nutrition, Health Promotion, or a closely related field plus a minimum of three relevant professional work experience or a Master's degree in Human Sciences, Health Education, Public Health, Public Health Nutrition, Community Nutrition, Health Promotion, Health Policy, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience:
- 4-5 years Extension experience.
- Master's degree preferred in the area of Human Sciences/Health Education
- Demonstrated organizational skills.
- Ability to communicate (oral, written and listening skills) as demonstrated by formal training, experience, and application materials.
- Demonstrated skill working with people as individuals and in group settings and the ability to build successful partnerships with other professionals and organizations.
- Demonstrated use of technology in managing and/or delivering educational programs especially with audiences with limited income.
- Ability to plan, organize, and conduct educational programs with adult and youth audiences with limited income.
- Experience with SNAP-Ed program management and/or program delivery.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Proficiency in computer programs, data management, and email. Good oral and written communication skills. Ability to take initiative, make sound judgments and assume responsibility for various assignments. Ability to respond positively to direction from supervisors and work without supervision. Ability to remain focus and exercise close attention to detail. Maintain confidentiality related to clientele.
Travel required within assigned area. Successful applicant must have transportation for use of the job, a current drivers' license, and liability insurance.
