Required Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Social Work with a current LSW license OR obtain license within six (6) months of hire;
- Three years of professional experience with children and families;
- Experience working and/or coordinating with state agencies;
- Professional experience in mentoring, teaching, or training.
Preferred Education and/or Experience:
- Master's degree in Social Work and a current LMSW/LCSW license OR obtain license within six (6) months of hire;
- Experience providing direct supervision of individuals/teams;
- Three years of project management experience;
- Experience with grant/contract-related projects.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Coordination and Supervision:
- Provides direct supervision of MidSOUTH Field Trainers;
- Coordinate onboarding/orientation for all new field trainers, provide initial training for newly hired field trainers, and arrange for continued education/training for existing Field Trainers;
- Provide oversight and training of Workday tasks for field trainers and review expense reports;
- Responsible for the coordination and assignment of DCFS trainees to MidSOUTH field trainers in their assigned regional areas;
- Coordinate and facilitate communication with assigned DCFS field training area;
- Coordinate with MidSOUTH training staff, DCFS staff, University Partnership staff, and other stakeholders to facilitate Field Training in assigned regional training areas.
Leadership/Teamwork:
- Participate in MidSOUTH's Child Welfare Leadership Team;
- Participate in DCFS's Training Skills Development Team;
- Participate in Academic Partnerships and Community Partnerships to promote knowledge dissemination, training, and research;
- Facilitate monthly coordination meetings with the Area 6 Partnership University;
- Facilitate monthly coordination meetings with the Area 3 and 6 DCFS Area Directors;
- Serve on workgroups representing MidSOUTH;
- Provide oversight to DCFS Internship Placements;
- Monitor compliance in ensuring student interns comply with a complete criminal background and central registry checks as required by the DCFS Internship Program Management Guide.
Project Management:
- Organize and submit a monthly report on contract deliverables provided by MidSOUTH Field Trainers;
- Provide oversight to databases used for field training;
- Monitor compliance of field training documentation requirements;
- Responsible for meeting with the DCFS Area Directors and PDU Manager, as outlined by the IV-E contract, to discuss field training in their assigned regional areas;
- Responsible for the timely completion of training assessments and documentation of training activities.
Training of DCFS Staff:
- Provide case management education, mentoring and field education to new DCFS staff, new supervisors and experienced staff as requested and per developed protocols and standards;
- Provide additional training as requested in designated areas;
- Attend quarterly academic partnership meetings;
- Attend Training of Trainers, DCFS mandatory training, and continuing education workshops when relevant to the position.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, which may include nights and weekends;
- Ability for in-state and occasional out-of-state travel;
- Experience and training in curriculum development and training delivery;
- Superior supervisory skills;
- Ability to use instructional technology to deliver training presentations;
- Knowledge of and experience with computer software i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.;
- Ability to maintain a monthly record of contacts;
- Strong organizational and interpersonal communication skills;
- Possess a valid driver's license and dependable transportation;
- Ability to work independently;
- Ability to meet multiple program deadlines, and manage multiple tasks.
