Summary of Job Duties:
Position Summary: The Fiscal Support Analyst will work under general supervision and is responsible for the processing of all student disbursements of financial aid and/or scholarships. The general collection actions on individual accounts, to include reporting to collection agencies and state programs. They will use the student information system for tracking and report generation. The position is governed by Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and procedures and institutional policies. This position reports to the Director of Accounts Receivable.

Qualifications:
Required Education and/or Work Experience: Minimum qualifications include an associate’s degree in general business, business management, or a related field; plus three years of experience in fiscal operations. Other job-related education and/or experience may be substituted for all or part of these basic requirements.
Preferred Education and/or Work Experience: Experience working in higher education and/or Workday ERP.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for managing all aspects of collections for the University. This includes coordinating pre-collection efforts, working with collection agencies, and utilizing the State Debt Set-off Program for past due accounts. The position requires reconciling agency accounts with the student information system, maintaining communication with students in collections, and ensuring compliance with federal and state collection procedures.
  • Responsible for processing student refunds through the student information system. This includes reviewing refund requests for accuracy, ensuring proper adjustments to financial aid awards are made when necessary, and coordinating with the Financial Aid office to resolve any discrepancies before issuing refund deposits or checks.
  • Contributes to the overall success of the department by performing a variety of duties as assigned. This role plays an essential part in promoting strong working relationships with both students and coworkers, ensuring a positive and collaborative environment within the department.
  • Regular, reliable, undisruptive attendance is an essential job duty.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: To perform the job successfully, the following competencies are required for the essential functions of this position:
  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and procedures
  • Knowledge of general information technology concepts and various software
  • Knowledge of customer service techniques
  • Ability to apply knowledge base comprehensively.

Additional Information:
Working Relationships: Frequent contact with campus personnel, students, financial aid personnel, peers and outside collection agencies.

Special Job Dimensions: Work is primarily performed in an office setting. While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly exhibits digital dexterity when entering data into computer. The employee frequently sits for extended periods of time, and occasionally stands and walks. Vision demands include close, detailed vision when focusing on a computer screen. Employee regularly talks and hears. Employee occasionally lifts items up to 10 pounds. Extended hours are frequently required, particularly associated with fiscal year-end and student registration. Routine office hours 8:00 a.m.to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
